Originally from Chicago, Reyna Larson came to Harbor Country in 2012 to open Nani’s Cafe in
Union Pier and is currently the co-owner and chef of Ray & Al’s in Galien, Mi.

Prior to her restaurant endeavors, she spent many years as a singer/songwriter in Chicago and
Los Angeles; always with the suspicion that a career in food was somewhere on the horizon.

As a performer, she fronted two Chicago bands (Mabel Mabel / Tilda Tora) before pursuing a
self titled solo project, sold records independently, shared the stage with a variety of national
artists , and had the pleasure of working with producers Brian Deck (Modest Mouse, Iron &
Wine) Mark Cross (Shelby Lynne).

As a songwriter, she has written original music for theatrical productions, indie films, and TV
pilots, co-created a children’s music program with National Louis University, written countless
songs for her cats, and landed a publishing deal with Dramatico Entertainment in NYC.
In between she managed to sneak in a 5 year stint as a celebrity chef in Los Angeles, created
an original cartoon for the Rosie O’Donnel show at Harpo studios in Chicago, waited tables at
heavy metal haven Kuma’s Corner, and bought a house in Lakeside, Mi where she happily
resides with her wife and business partner Alice Hoffmann and their 2 1/2 cats. Don’t ask…

Reyna has recently started a new music project that reunites her with her favorite friends and
band mates and is excited to share them with you alongside the Story Club SW Michigan
storytellers at what is sure to be a memorable Valentine’s Day performance.
